For those of you who are wondering what is a ping and why you should, this post is for you. What a strange name for such an important thing! A ping is not something you do with your fingers on someone’s arm. It is a very important tool to get the word out about your blog, article or website.

A ping is defined as the act of letting the search engines (Google for one) know you have written something great and you want everyone to know about it. You want the search engines to crawl your page for new content.

I have taken the time to give you some tips on how not to be called a spammer on social networking sites because this is a mistake that lots of people make when they join a site.

You want to promote your business or product so you join a social networking site. You get right down to business and tell everyone that “your business is the greatest” and “the best” and “you have to buy it now or else”! Geesh, slow down! That is the #1 way to be labeled a spammer and nobody will trust you, want to network with you or buy from you ever!

OK this is a freebie that I found online and I think right now could be a very important tool to learning to market online.
